How to set up your router
In short
Plug in, connect, and get online. Step-by-step, whether you have full-fibre or copper broadband.
Setting up your OCCTA router takes about 5 minutes.
What is in the box
- OCCTA router.
- Power adapter.
- Ethernet cable.
- Quick-start card with your Wi-Fi name and password (also printed on the base of the router).
Full-fibre (FTTP) setup
- Locate the ONT — small white box installed by the engineer.
- Connect the Ethernet cable from the ONT's LAN port to the router's WAN / Internet port (usually a different colour).
- Plug the power adapter into the router and switch on.
- Wait for lights to settle — typically 2 to 5 minutes.
Copper broadband (FTTC / SOGEA) setup
- Plug the router directly into your master phone socket (the main one where the line enters the house).
- Plug in the power adapter and switch on.
- Wait up to 30 minutes on first activation. After that it is 2–5 minutes.
Connect a device
- Wi-Fi name and password are on the sticker under the router.
- Use the 5GHz network for speed in the same room.
- Use the 2.4GHz network for range through walls.
