Keeping your landline number
You've had the same number for years. You shouldn't have to give it up to save money on your bill.
The short answer
Your landline number is yours. Give it to OCCTA when you sign up and we'll port it over as part of the switch — subject to the donating provider and porting process; a short interruption can occur.
Number porting is a legal right
Under Ofcom rules, you can take your number with you when you switch provider. This applies to Digital Voice too.
How to port
Just tell OCCTA the number you want to keep at sign-up. We coordinate with your old provider via the One Touch Switch or standard porting process.
How long does it take?
Usually completes on your activation day. Very occasionally takes 5–10 working days depending on the losing provider.
Moving house?
If you're staying on the same exchange you can usually keep your number. Moving to a different area code may require a new number.
