Complete OCCTA order-to-activation guide
In short
A step-by-step walkthrough of everything that happens between placing an OCCTA order and your service going live.
This guide walks through the full OCCTA journey, from postcode check to service-live.
Step 1: Check availability
Enter your postcode on our home page. We query Openreach in real time and show only the plans that will actually work at your address.
Step 2: Pick a plan
Choose speed and add-ons. Prices include VAT for home users.
Step 3: Accept your Contract Summary
We email a one-page Ofcom-format Contract Summary. Read it, tick the box, accept.
Step 4: Pay setup (if any)
Most home plans have no setup fee. Any charges are shown up-front.
Step 5: Openreach appointment
We book the earliest available slot — often within 10–14 days.
Step 6: Router arrives
Pre-configured. Plug into the master socket on activation day.
Step 7: Activation
Line goes live between 8am and 6pm on the booked date. No engineer needed for a simple line takeover; engineer attends for new-line installs.
Step 8: 10-day auto-tune
Line stabilises to its best sustainable speed over the first 10 days. Only test seriously after that.
Step 9: First invoice
Around your billing day. Usually pro-rata + one month in advance.
Step 10: You're done
Enjoy the internet. Talk to us if anything's off.
