Cooling-off period explained
In short
Your legal right to change your mind for 14 days after ordering broadband.
UK law gives you 14 days to cancel a broadband contract without any exit fee.
When does the 14 days start
The clock starts the day AFTER you accept the Contract Summary — not the day you order.
What can I do in the cooling-off period
Cancel for any reason, no exit fee, no questions.
What if my service goes live during the 14 days
- If you asked us to start service within the 14 days: you can still cancel, but you pay for the days of service actually used, plus (in some cases) a proportionate share of any one-off activation costs.
- If service has not yet gone live: no charge.
- Your Contract Summary spells this out in your specific case.
How to cancel within the cooling-off period
Reply to any OCCTA email, open the chat bubble, or call 0800 260 6626. Tell us "I want to cancel within my cooling-off period." That's enough.
After the 14 days
Your normal cancellation notice applies. On rolling plans that's 30 days, no exit fee.
