How Direct Debit setup works
In short
Setting up a Direct Debit takes 2 minutes and means you never have to pay an invoice manually again.
Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay OCCTA. Once set up, your bank pays each invoice on its due date automatically.
What we ask for
- Account holder name (as it appears on the bank statement).
- Sort code.
- Account number.
- Confirmation you are authorised to set up the mandate.
The mandate process
- You submit the details via a secure form.
- We register the mandate with your bank (via a regulated provider).
- Your bank confirms the mandate — typically within 5 working days.
- From then on, invoices are automatically collected on their due date.
Important
- Direct Debit is NOT collected until the mandate is confirmed active. Any invoice issued before then is due manually via invoice link.
- You are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee — if OCCTA ever charges the wrong amount, your bank refunds you immediately.
- You can cancel the mandate any time with your bank.
If a Direct Debit fails
Your bank tells us within 2 working days. We'll email you and reissue the invoice as a payment link. No late fee applies for the first bank failure.
