    Stopping Nuisance Calls and Spam Texts

    You can't stop every unwanted call, but you can cut them down a lot.

    Register with TPS

    The Telephone Preference Service (tpsonline.org.uk) is free. UK companies must not make unsolicited sales calls to registered numbers. It covers landlines and mobiles.

    Block and screen

    Use your handset's call-block list, or a call-blocking phone. On mobiles, use the built-in 'silence unknown callers' or block settings.

    Report spam texts

    Forward spam texts to 7726 (free). Report persistent nuisance calls to the ICO.

    Malicious or threatening calls

    If calls are threatening, contact the police. Tell us too and we'll help with options.
