Spotting Scams Pretending to Be OCCTA
Criminals often pose as broadband and phone companies. Knowing what we'll never do is your best protection.
OCCTA will never…
If someone does any of these, it isn't us:
- Ask for card details — we don't take card payments at all.
- Ask you to pay to a different bank account or say our bank details have changed.
- Ask for your passwords or one-time codes.
- Ask you to install remote-access software to 'fix your internet'.
- Threaten to cut you off within the hour unless you pay now.
If you're unsure
Hang up or don't reply. Contact us using the details on this website — 0800 260 6626 or hello@occta.co.uk — never the number or link in the message.
Report it
Forward phishing emails to report@phishing.gov.uk and spam texts to 7726. Report fraud to Action Fraud (or Police Scotland on 101 in Scotland). If you've lost money, call your bank straight away on the number on your card — or call 159.
